It was a drama on Saturday when some angry citizens of Kogi state pelted the Senator representing Kogi west at the National assembly, Senator Dino Melaye.
The incident happened at Kabba township stadium, venue of the 2017 Kabba Day celebration.
The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahya Bello who was believed to have been in the town made a u-turn when the news of Senator Melaye’s attack reached him.
Melaye arrived at the venue at about 11:00 hour and posed for the pictures with some supporters. He was later invited to make his speech and after his brief address, he announced his donation of N3m.
As he was heading to his car, some angry mob attacked his G-Wagon with stones. The security personnel on ground had to use teargas to bring the horrendous situation under control.
Gov. Bello whose advance team were already on ground and was expected to grace the occasion later sent a donation of N20m on behalf of the state.
