Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to declare the Fulani herdsmen as terrorists group.

The governor made the demand during a meeting with local hunters and Benue indigenes in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

Fayose warned that killer herdsmen have taken over state forest reserves and were allegedly using the avenues as covers to unleash chaos on the state.

He said “Precisely 55 people have been killed by Fulani herdsmen in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba, such invasion and attacks began during the weekend, while twenty-five bodies were recovered.

 

Governor Darius Ishaku told The Nation on Tuesday night on the telephone. The death toll has risen to 55, as more bodies were recovered on Wednesday morning by the locals security men.
“Herdsmen are killing people in Lau, my state.”

Although, the police, said the place is calm now.

But the Ekiti State Governor disagree with the Police and asked President Muhammadu Buhari to declare herdsmen allegedly behind killings in Benue and other parts of the country terrorists.
