An aspirant for Osun State House of Assembly, Ede South Constituency Hon. Adekunle Taofeek Olashile fondly called Master, has hinted that he will defeat moneybag politicians in 2019.
Taofeek spoke at the Federation of Edeland Students Union Day Celebration organized by Federal Polytechnic Offa Chapter.
In his words “I have a kind of history that none of my intending opponents can rival. My late father diligently and patriotically served the good people of Edeland and I have also been at the front of youth and students struggle not just in Ede but in Osun State and beyond. In addition, I have been an advocate of youth Emancipation and youth inclusiveness in politics. Furthermore, I strongly believe that I am adequately prepared for leadership than my intending opponents and in fact including the incumbent. My manifesto which will be youth friendly is what they can never rival. It is with these convictions that I believe that my candidature will attract widespread acceptability and thus a landslide victory during the polls”
The emerging politician encouraged youth to take active interest in politics since politics determines many things.
“Politics is sin quo none and it determines many things. From the type of health programmes that we will have to the type of education and the quality of our road network. We cannot reach our full potentials if we fail to take active part in politics and make laws or design programmes that will help shape our future in a beautiful way.”
He also advised politicians with bad records to stay clear off the race otherwise it will lead them to their political graves.
“There are some politicians who have a great deal of bad records and my advice for them is that they should stay clear off the polls especially where I have interest. My team has successfully compiled a database on almost all the politicians in town with each files on each politicians. These files have in full details how they have robbed the town of meaningful development. It is so saddening that a good number of them have committed monumental cases of corruption, sex scandal and even certificate forgery. If they fail to desist from bad antics, then we won’t have any choice other than to take those cans of worms to the public and this can lead them to their political graves.”
The University of Ilorin Alumnus admonished the electorates to consider the history, will and intellect of all candidates before they cast their vote both during the governorship election and the general election in 2019.
