The officers of Nigerian Police and Department of State  Security are presently besieging the houses of Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu preventing Saraki  from honouring the invitation extended to him by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

The convoy of the Senate President reportedly hit the road around 6:58am on Tuesday morning to honour the police invitation and is currently stranded as the officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force have refused him passage.

It is also reported that the residence of the Deputy Senate President, Ekweremadu has been surrounded by police and DSS.

Ekweremadu is expected to preside over the plenary today if the Senate President is unable to leave the Police office before 10am.
