The Osun State Chapter of Yoruba Youth Council has dissociated itself from the recent adoption of a governorship candidate by a group of youths.
The organization said the time to endorse any candidate is not ripe as it is busy with its statewide consultations and assessment of the manifestos presented by the parties flag bearers.
The State Chairman of YYC, Comrade Wahab Kazeem Olanrewaju made this known today in Osogbo on a statement he released and a copy was obtained by Insight Media.
Olarenwaju said the leadership of the council at all levels is interested in the capabilities of the candidates and the relevance of content in their manifestos to the development of the youths and the state at large.
He said “the Yoruba Youth Council has not endorsed any candidate or identified any candidate for support as at the moment because we are still consulting.
“The Council is presently in its statewide consultations and to assess the contents of the all the candidates and the relevance of their manifestos to the development of youth and state at large.
“We are going to make our stand known as soon as we’re done with our assessment. We urge all the youths in the state to remain calm as we are diligently representing your interests and we will not compromise on our dealings.
