The Alliance of Collaborating Political Party (ACPP) has endorsed the candidature of the standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress, Alh Gboyega Oyetola in the Re-run election slated for Thursday.
The ACPP which comprises of fourteen political parties that participated in the last Saturday governorship election made this declaration in Osogbo on Wednesday at a press briefing.
The parties are APA, ACD, GPN, NNPP, PANDEL, PDC, HDP, BNPP, C4C, NCP, MMN, LPN, JMPP and MAJA.
The governorship candidates of the parties in a statement read by one of the said their decision was in tandem with their quest to secure better future for the state.
They said, “We are left with two candidates in the Re-run election – the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Gboyega Oyetola and Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party. As stakeholders and lovers of development, we consider competence, good track record, education, private and public sector’s experience, intelligence and good conduct as factors in choosing who to support.
“Considering all these, we are left with no choice than to declare support for Gboyega Oyetola, the APC candidate. We fully endorse his candidature.
The group said it believes that Oyetola has the capacity required to govern the state.
“It’s our firm opinion that he has the capacity to govern Osun and continue the development of the state.
“Oyetola is a God-fearing, capable, well educated, humane, honest and a man of integrity”, the group said.
The group urge the people in the seven polling units across four local government areas of Ife South, Ife North, Orolu and Osogbo who are deciders to vote massively for Oyetola in the runoff poll.
The group also condemn the vote buying and swearing to “satanic oaths” and urge the security agencies to “investigate the matter, apprehend the perpetrators and make them face the law”.
