Leaders of the market women, popularly called Iyaloja in the ten local governments that makes up Osun East senatorial district on Tuesday paid a solidarity visit to the Honourable representing Ijesha South Federal Constituency and candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Ife/Ijesha, Honourable Ajibola Israel Famurewa.
The market women who stormed the residence of the lawmaker in Ilesha said they came to identify with him and also assured him of their support towards his senatorial ambition.
They added that their support was informed by the good representation and massive dividends of democracy brought to the people of Ijesha South by the lawmaker and expressed their optimism that he will do better if given the mandate to occupy the red chamber seat.
While thanking the Iyalojas, Famurewa said he really appreciate their support and promise to be good ambassadors of the Osun East at all levels.
He added, “I see politics and political office as avenue to make impact on people’s lives, put smiles on their faces and being their voice when they are voiceless.
“I will continue to give good representation to my people anytime, any day with and also try my best to deliver real dividends of democracy to their doorsteps.
