Love is the essence of Christmas celebration, the world over. It was love that made Christ to accept to be born as human, and so the essence of the season would have been defeated if we are not guided by love- Love for fellow humans, love for peace, love for happiness and coexistence, as well as love for good governance.
Irrespective of tribe, religion, political affiliation, etc. we should live peaceably with all mankind and be led by love. In your little capacity, extend love to your neighbours, coworkers, friends, relatives and the less privilege.
I sincerely thank God for making 2018 a unique one, and quite memorable. I equally appreciate you for being a good partner in the struggle for good governance and peaceful coexistence. This is the best time to be alive and contribute to nation building.
I urge you to see this time as a moment of reflection and assessment of our performances in 2018, and make amends where necessary in the coming year.
It is equally a time we should score our leaders on their performance so far, in order to be guided to make informed decision in next year’s election.
We are a people, bonded together by God who loves us unconditionally, let us do same to all men. For as it is done in heaven, let it be replicated on earth.
Again, 2019 is fast approaching, and it’s the year that will define our destiny as a people. It is one year that will be very significant in the history of our nation and state. Let us not be controlled by sentiments and hatred, let us do what is right for the sake of posterity. Ensure that you vote for peace, security, timely payment of salary, industrialization, good road network and vibrant economy.
Finally, I celebrate our dear Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for his selfless leadership in the state. He has proven that he is a man of integrity indeed. May this season be the reason Akwa Ibom people will rise in one voice and echo his victory come 2019.
Let love lead you in line with the season of the birth of Christ. Let Christ be seen in all you do, so that his birth would not be in vain. And the God of all flesh, peace and love will reward you accordingly.
Once again MERRY CHRISTMAS and a happy new year in advance.
