The immediate past Governor of Ekiti state, Mr Peter Ayo Fayose today critized the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to send people to Zamfara and give calls over the killings by Bandits in the state instead of him going in person.
It should be recalled that last week the president had it request of using the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Akwa Ibom granted for its re election bid in the 2019 general elections after the state governor had earlier denied him usage of the stadium and suggested the Uyo township stadium which has less capacity unlike the 30,000 capacity of the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Akwa Ibom be used, however this generated a lot of controversies and reactions from Nigerians and later the governor Mr Udom Emmanuel granted the request.
In his Tweet the former two-term Governor criticized the decision of the president to be heading to Akwa Ibom tomorrow Friday for his presidential campaign flag off despite killings in Zamfara without Mr president going to Zamfara to express his condolence and sympathy with the people of the state.
According to Fayose in his Tweet he said “Nigerians are being killed in Zamfara, President Buhari could only make “phone calls”. But he is going to Akwa Ibom, a state made peaceful by the PDP Govt of @MrUdomEmmanuel to flag off his campaign. Why can’t he do the flag off in Zamfara, Yobe or Borno?”
