A petroleum attendant at a Nipco filling station in Osogbo, Osun State, Azeez Abdulsamad and two others identified as Nasiru Aranse and Medinat Salako, have been arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for stealing the sum of N 1, 150, 000, being sales proceeds of the station.

The accused were arraigned on counts of conspiracy, fraud and theft .

According to the police, Abdulsamad stole the proceeds and was later defrauded by Aranse and Salako, who took the money from him under the pretext that they would provide charms that would make him rich .

The charge sheet read in part , “That you , Azeez Abdulsamad, at a NIPCO filling station, Osogbo, did steal the sum of N 1 ,150, 000, property of one Afolabi Kayode .

“ That you, Nurudeen Aranse and Medinat Salako and others at large, fraudulently obtained the sum of N 1, 150, 000 from one Azeez Abdulsamad under the pretext that you would provide some charms that would make him rich. ”

The police prosecutor, ASP Abiodun Fagboyinbo, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on August 28 , 2018, at a Nipco filling station, Osogbo.

He explained that the accused conspired among themselves to defraud the owner of the filling station, Afolabi , of the sum of N 1, 150, 000.
He added that the defendants were on the run before they were arrested and brought before the court .
