A Non Governmental Organization in Ilorin, Rising Child Foundation in Ilorin, Rising Child Foundation in set to organize the second edition of its Spelling Bee competition for students of basic schools in Kwara State.
According to a statement signed by Hussain Taibat Aduragba, Executive Director of the organization, the competition is in line with the Reading Enrichment Project of the foundation which started two years ago and its commitment to advocating for quality education for all.
The ED added that the among the aims of the project is to “encourage the Nigerian child to read more and to learn more as readers are leaders”.
The competition tagged (#KwaraSpellingBee2.0), is scheduled to take place at Bishops Smith Memorial College, Ilorin, Kwara state on the 14th day of March, 2019.
“The target audience this year are public primary schools from Kwara Central Senatorial district (same as last year). It is our utmost desire to take up every nook and cranny in Kwara but, our resources are sadly, limited.
“We will like to use this opportunity to again, solicit for sponsors and partners for future editions of this educational programme.
We believe that “words change the world” and we have the opportunity to use words to shape our country’s future.
“In preparing the future leaders of the country, they must be armed and fully equipped with these three incontestable weapons: Speaking boldly, reading voraciously and writing eloquently, the statement reads.
