A Federal High Court sitting in Katsina has sacked another House of Representatives Member-elect, Amiru Tukur Idris.

Idris, who was elected to represent Bakori/ Danja federal constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress was on Thursday, April 18, sacked by the Court.

Daily Trust reports that Justice Hadiza Shagari, in her ruling on the case, said all the seven reliefs sought by the applicant, Engr Yakubu Nuhu Danja, have been granted.

The report quoted the justice as saying the substitution of the plaintiff’s name with that of Amiru Tukur, who is the second defendant in the case, remained null and void.

“The reliefs sought by the plaintiff are hereby granted and the originating summons succeed,” the judge said.

The report said Engr Yakubu had sought the court for justice when his name was replaced by the All Progressive Congress (APC) at the party’s primaries. It was learnt that during the primaries, Yakubu scored 314 votes to defeat the Tukur who polled 305 votes.

Yakubu was reportedly announced winner at the constituency, but his name was later replaced when being submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the party.
