Lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and former Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State, Hon James Abiodun Faleke, has cleared the air over his purported ambition to contest gubernatorial seat in Kogi state in the election coming up later this year.
Faleke said he has no such ambition and he’s not ready to contest in the election.
In his reaction to the rumours making the rounds he said, “In the past few days, I have received phone calls from various people from Kogi State particularly from our brothers and sisters from the Eastern Senatorial District of the state on a purported meeting with my Leaders towards coming to Kogi State to contest for the governorship seat slated for November, 2019. I wish to say clearly that I was not in such a meeting”.
“I have just been reelected by the loving people of Ikeja Federal Constituency to represent the people for a record third term. My immediate preoccupation now is to join hands with all members of the 9th Assembly to elect Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as the Speaker of the House of Reps come June 2019 by God’s grace.
“I understand what the people of Kogi are going through now and let us continue to pray for God’s intervention and to touch the heart of the leaders in the state.”
