A foremost traditional ruler in Osun State, Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama Tegbosun III, Olowu of Kuta, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to see the whole country and its people as a constituency that belongs to him.
Oba Makama made this call on Saturday while speaking with Insight Media Correspondents at his palace in Kuta.
The monarch also advised the President to keep the present Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai, who he described as a great asset to the country, who has brought several reformations and innovations to the Nigerian Army.
He added that the achievements of the Military helmsman has become a yardstick to judge the present administration.
He said, “I want to advise President Muhammadu Buhari to see the whole country as his constituency. He needs to bring everyone together and earn their trust.
“More so, I want to advise him to keep the current Chief of Army Staff as he has been able to reform and insert new innovations into the military. He has also driven the military, most especially the Nigerian Army away from politics despite all the temptations and challenges. I think the country needs his service more. He is a brilliant soldier”.
Oba Makama also called on the youths to be detribalised and always see themselves first as Nigerians before any other identity.
“As youths, you need to remove the tribalistic spirit from your heart. See yourself as a foremost Nigerian and not a Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa first. If you have patience and you’re detribilized, you’ll be able to reach out to people from other sides of the country and make needful connections”, he said.
“The leaders believe that we’re catalyst of destruction, rather than development. But as a father of the nation, I am trying my best to impact on this generation”, he added.
