Government of the State of Osun has cautioned Chairmen of Local Governments against execution of project without the approval of the state.

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke stated this in Iree and Iragbiji while leading the management of the ministry on the inspection of ongoing and completed projects in the councils.

According to him, based on the instruction of the Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, the era of executing projects at the whims and caprices of council chairmen has gone.
He added that part of the documents that would be consider in granting the approval by the state is the approval of the parliament of the council for any project proposed for execution.

The commissioner hinted that before embarking on any project, it must be in line with the demands of the people and the approval of the parliament before it get to state for final approval.

He said: “Governor Oyetola administration has a development agenda that is connected to the demands of the people and this must be followed.

“Every functionary, both political and bureacracy has roles to play and they must be allowed to play that role effectively in the interest of the people”, he stressed.

Special Adviser to the Governor in the ministry, Mr Rasak Adeosun duelled on the need for both political functionaries and careerist to work together for the benefit of all.

While reiterating the commitment of Governor Oyetola’s administration to the well-being of workers, he said he has deployed his financial engineering skills to ensure that salaries of workers are fully paid as and when due.

Describing him as intelligent, Adeosun noted that Governor Oyetola is one of the Governor that has implemented the NFIU policy to ensure that local government get their allocations directly and spend it for the development of the people.

He also tasked political functionaries to mend fences where there are issues to ensure that the best of development is achieved.
