The National Association of Osun State Students, NAOSS, has extolled the brilliance of Akintade Abdullahi, the overall winner of National Science Competition for secondary school students.
According to NAOSS, the umbrella body of all Osun State Students, the association is very proud of the young Abdullahi for the feat he recorded at the national stage. InsightMedia has reported that Abdullahi emerged overall best Young Nigerian Scientist in a competition held in Abuja.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the NAOSS National President, Alabi which was obtained by InsightMedia in Osogbo on Monday, the association lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for giving the students scholarship, which according to them, “will spur the students and their colleagues to do more.”
Alabi said the president of the association, Comrade Salahudeen Teslim is highly elated with the achievement of Abdullahi and has encouraged his colleagues to grab every opportunity available to them to always be at the top in their field of study.
The message reads in part, “The entire sons and daughters of Osun State is using this medium to congratulate our victorious son Abdullahi Akintade who forthcome as the best science students in the just concluded federal examination across 774 local governments in the nation.
He, Akintade who has wonderfully won the number one student at the national competition among 774 local government students in Nigeria organised by the federal ministry of science and technology.
“The NAOSS NATIONAL president is very Proud as it is one of his acheivement during his administration as a student of Osun State from the state capital Grammar school to be precise and also from Ilobu in Irepodun local government bagged an award from President Muhammad Buhari.
“There’s no uncertainty on the fact that you have proved yourself as part of reasonable Nigerian youth who are ready to uplift the flag of our dear Nation. The president, his executive cabinet and the entire students pray to Almighty God to guide you through your academic endeavours.”
The association also lauded the ministry of science and technology under the leadership of Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, for deeming it fit to organize the contest as a way of recruiting young scientists that will chart a new path for the future of the country.
“It is clearly understood that the effort, kindness and doggednes of the ministry cannot be shoved away, so goes our undiluted appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, who took it as a great responsibility to discover talents inherently hidden in our youths.
“Giving him the scholarship up to PhD is another way and means of formulating and creating a new live for the entire family. Nevertheless, we humbly urge your furtherance in taking students as a great obligation as no nation can be great without the intervention and involvement of the youth. We appreciate you for taking students and youths challenges as part of your priority and projects,” Alabi said.
NAOSS also extended his appreciation to the Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Gboyega Oyetola for always providing quality leadership for both young and adults in the state.
They call on him to ensure that provision learning materials, equipment and other necessary ingredients towards delivering qualitative education remains top priority of his administration.
“We finally on this note implore the philanthropist of our nation, educational organisations and schools across all levels to kindly encourage Nigerian students by complimenting the effort of federal government by facilitating project that will discover more extraordinary students, produce more aristocrat, promote and enhance more consistence in study and schooling.”
