Former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola will tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18, lead forty-four other stakeholders from the Actions Democratic Party, Social Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
According to a statement by Hon Soji Adagunodo, the PDP Chairman in Osun State, Oyinlola will be received at a South West mega rally of the party to be held in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
Among those following the Prince of Okuku are former Secretary to the State Government, Prince Kazeem Adio; Two-time Governorship Candidate and former PDP Chairman, Alh Fatai Akinbade; and former House of Reps member, Gbadebo Ayinde.
Other are former local government chairmen, for commissioners, special advisers, party leaders, among many stakeholders.
Adagunodo said the defection of s expected to strengthen the party against ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Osun State and 2023 general election.
The statement reads in part, “This is to inform all members of the Peoples Democratic Party, Osun State chapter and the general public that our party is ready to form a formidable and viable opposition party in order to win the upcoming gubernatorial election in 2022.
“I also wish to inform you that we have been having series of meetings and interactions by interfacing with a lot of political giants in the state and so many other political parties.
“We are also glad to tell you that we have been able to welcome people from Accord, ADP, ADC, APC, SDP, PDM, etc in different Local Government areas and the area office back to our party in the past.
“By Wednesday, 18th March, 2020, we will be welcoming Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade
and 50 other political leaders with their supporters at the South West Unification rally holding at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, Oyo State.
“There will be a full declaration in Osun State on the 25th March, 2020 which will include Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade and other political leaders in ADC, the Dr. Bayo Faforiji-led Kosemani group of SDP, the Barrister S.L. Ojo-Williams-led group of SDP and also Alhaji Akomola-led group of PDM and their followers in their thousands.
“By this the political structures of these three political parties, ADC, SDP and PDM will be collapsed into PDP to form a formidable opposition in order to win the 2022 governorship election in the state.
Attached here is a list of other leaders who will be declaring with Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola on Wednesday 18th March, 2020 at the unification rally in Ibadan.”
Confirming the development, former SSG Adio said all is set for them to join their former political party.
