Life of a 25-year old tiler, simply identified as Jamiu, was on Sunday cut short as he was crushed to death by a heavy duty truck in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.
It was gathered that incident, which led to heavy traffic logjam, occurred at around 1700hr at the popular Olaiya Junction in the metropolis.
Jamiu was killed on his private motocyle by the driver of truck.
According to an eyewitness account, the passenger on the motorcycle, popularly called okada, was dragged from the wheels of the truck with a broken leg.
It was also revealed that the driver of the trailer with registation number Lagos: LSR140 XV coming from Gbongan road refused to wait for one the traffic light that had stopped him and swerved to crush the motocyclist to death.
It was gathered that another driver of a wine colour Toyota Camry car, marked Lagos APP 821 CX on a right of way, coming from Odi-Olowo was also bashed by the trailer but was lucky not to have been killed.
But Jamiu was on his motocycle marked Osun: SGB 014 UH, waiting for his turn to be released by the traffic light, when to the trailer crushed to death.
It was also gathered that two ladies on the motocyle with the deceased jumped off when they saw the trailer facing the direction.
Angry mob who attempted to set the truck ablaze were prevented by security agents at the scene, as the driver had fled the scene shortly after the damage was done.
The deceased, who was described as very hardworking, was said to operate a boutique apart from being a tiler. He was said to be a married man with a child.
His remains has been deposited at the mortuary of the State Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo.
