Tottenham and England midfielder, Eric Dier on Wednesday reacted angrily to a verbal abuse from one of the club’s supporters on by jumping into the fan section of the stadium to physically confront the Tottenham fan.

Dier, who was determined to beat the fan was held back by Stadium security.

The midfielder scored a penalty in the shootout against Norwich, but Spurs were knocked out of the FA Cup after the final spot-kick from Gedson Fernandes was saved by Tim Krul.

So after the match, Dier was heading for the tunnel until he spotted his brother – a spectator at the match sitting in an area allocated for players’ families next to where the insulting fan sat. The next thing, Dier sensationally clambered over rows of seats and stormed high into the crowd, racing to the area where the fan sat, with intent of confronting him.

Following the match and incident, Spurs manager José Mourinho said: ‘I think Eric did what we as professionals cannot do’, but I understand him’
