The Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude Tegbosun 3 has called for siting of the newly approved Federal College of Education in Iwo land to a location that is centrally connected to the three local governments in Iwo land.

Oba Oyelude made this call during an interview session with Insightful Moment Crew at his palace on Monday.

The monarch, who commended President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Gboyega Oyetola for their roles in supporting Iwo land, condemned the violent protest in Ila over the College.

He added that Iwo land, consisting of Iwo, Ayedire and Ola-Oluwa local governments, has been the most marginalised federal constituency in the country with no federal or state institution.

Oba Makama also saluted former governor of the state, Chief Bisi Akande, describing him as “an elder statesman” who will not cheat any community because of any “clannish interest”.

The monarch said the siting of the institution must be at a location central to the three local governments in order to be fair to everyone in the Federal constituency.

“The College must be sited at a place centrally connected to the three local governments. This will be a litmus test to know if we are truly Iwo land or not,” Oba Makama said.
