Osun State Police Command has said that it has dismissed the officer Ago Egharepbe who brutalised a civilian in Ibokun, Osun State.
It was gathered that Ayomide Taiwo, the victim, who has been in coma at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, since Monday has died in the early hours of today.
Ayomide died of the injury he sustained when Egharepbe attacked him on Monday.
Confirming the death of his apprentice, Popoola Adebayo, the master of Ayomide said Ayomide died on Sunday as he had remained unconscious since the attack six days ago.
Confirming the death of Ayomide, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, said the Commissioner of Police Osun command, Undie Adie has after receiving the report of the trial committee, recommended the dismissal of the officer to the Inspector General of Police and he has been dismissed.
Opalola added that he will be charged to court on Monday for murder.
“The Osun State Police Command wishes to state that the officer, Inspector Ago Egharepbe, who brutalised a civilian in Ibokun has been tried and dismissed from the force.
“The Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie has recommended his dismissal to the Inspector General of Police and he has been dismissed. He will be charged to court on Monday for murder.
“CP Adie and the entire Osun Police Command commiserate with the family and friends of Ayomide Taiwo on the death of the loved on, as we promised to ensure Justice is served.” Opalola said.
