Governor Sanwo-Olu revealed this in a statement on his official Facebook page on Monday evening.
Sanwo-Olu wrote, “It was an honour to welcome Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff, to Lagos.
“We had a productive discussion on the Army’s dedication and professionalism in maintaining peace and security across Nigeria.
“The Nigerian Army’s commitment to upholding the constitution and safeguarding our nation’s peace has not gone unnoticed. We appreciate their sacrifice and dedication in various operations across the country.
“During our meeting, I requested the Army’s cooperation in key areas, such as the clearing of illegal shanties on Lagos-Badagry Expressway and supporting ongoing enforcement efforts, including the Okada ban.
“I also assured the Army Chief of our support in rebuilding a military primary school in Orile demolished for the construction of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
“As we move forward, collaboration among security agencies is key to maintaining safety in Lagos. Let’s work together to keep our city safe for everyone.”
