Several band officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) were reportedly killed in an auto crash along Kano-Zaria highway on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Eyewitness accounts recounted that the unfortunate incident happened when one of the tyres of the NIS-branded vehicle they were traveling in burst leading to the accident.

There was no survival in the accident.

The Corps band officers were said to be returning to Abuja from Kano where they had attended a passing out parade at the Immigration Training School in Kano.

Sector Commander, Kaduna State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Kabir Yusuf Nadabo confirmed the incident to The Sun Newspapers Sunday evening.

He however declined details of the incident noting that the Corps command in Kano is handling the situation.

Efforts to reach the Kano State Command of the Corps were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.

The National headquarters of the Service confirmed the report via an encrypted message on its official X handle (formerly Twitter).
