Federal Road Safety Corps Office Commissioned in Ilobu Community**

It was a historic moment on Monday as the The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) inaugurated a new office in Ilobu, Irepodun local government area of Osun State.

The office, which is a joint effort of Ilobu-Asake Development Union and the local government was commissioned by a by the Osun State Sector Commandant of the Corp, Henry Benamaisia.

The project aims to establish a grassroots-level relationship, enhancing road safety and promoting awareness of traffic rules and regulations in the area.

During the ceremony, Commandant Benamaisia expressed the significance of the new FRSC outfit, which will operate on behalf of the state, extending its services from Ilobu to the boundaries of Oyo State. He emphasized the importance of sensitizing people and educating them about road safety measures.

“The primary objective of this project is to fulfill our duty of educating and creating awareness about road rules and regulations,” stated Commandant Benamaisia. He further emphasized their commitment to reducing accidents and clearing roads swiftly in case of emergencies.”

He commended the IDU for ensuring the project comes to reality.

“We must appreciate the people of Ilobu, most especially the Ilobu-Asake Development Union for their efforts in the bringing the project to reality. The commsion also appreciates the local government chairman.”

“I urge everyone to exercise patience, avoid overloading and excessive speeding, and always remember to fasten their seat belts. Wearing seat belts significantly reduces the impact of accidents,” he advised.

The Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Asiru Olatoye Olaniyan, who received the FRSC officials at his Palace, thanked the agency for the project.

The monarch said, “I am thankful to you as we didn’t expect this type of development during this time, and I cannot express how grateful I am to each one of you.”

Oba Olaniyan also urged the residents of Ilobu to collaborate with the FRSC officials, as their collective efforts would ensure the general well-being of the community.

The newly established FRSC office in Ilobu Community is expected to play a crucial role in promoting road safety and reducing accidents. By fostering collaboration between the FRSC and the local community, it is hoped that the venture will contribute to a safer road environment for all.

Present at the project commissioning were the Vice President 2 of IDU, Mr Musa Taofeeq, welfare secretary, Taiwo Ajibola, the union treasurer and financial secretary, Taiwo Ojo and Nurudeen Arogundade respectively.
