The Emikola Afolabi Foundation donated rice to the less privileged, needy, communities and prison centers as way of celebrating Easter and helping the poor and needy during the economy crisis.
The outreach which was held at the Foundation on Friday in Osogbo, had in attendance 15 beneficiaries of the incentives.
The Co-founder of The Foundation, Mr James Afolabi stated that it was an outreach to the less privileged in the society.
He further explained that, “We are conducting outreach at the Emikola Afolabi Foundation, it is our custom every year during Easter time to reach out to through poor and the needy. Every year we give them materials, particularly rice”.
However, he advised other Non-governmental Organization and well-being individuals to assist other Nigerians during this economic hardship.
“Our cry had always been that people should remember that we are in this world for a short while, death will come. If we have little that we can eat and we can share with other, the best time to do it is now.
“Especially in Nigeria today, where it is difficult to feed, so indulge our politicians, they are the rich ones, they should come to the aid of the less privileged, no matter how you are, you can always reach out to the less privileged “, he explained.
Mrs Lucy Emiola Afolabi, who is the wife and Co-founder of the Foundation, listed out the names of the beneficiaries, adding that “We have over 15 beneficiaries here today, this is our way of reaching to the poor and needy, we have Representatives of orphanages homes, prison centres, and other communities
While imploring other people to imbibe the act of giving.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with Insight Media, expressed their gratitude to the Foundation, while imploring other NGOs to give to the poor and needy as a way to lift poverty and hunger in the Country.
