The Edo State House of Assembly has on Monday, impeached the embattled state’s deputy governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu.
The impeachment followed the adoption of the report of the seven-man investigative panel set up by the Assembly to probe allegations of misconduct against Shaibu.
The impeachment proceedings, which were initiated earlier this week, culminated in a dramatic vote that saw Shaibu ousted from his position.
Shaibu had insisted that he would not appear before the panel citing ongoing court case he instituted at the Abuja division of the federal high court.
