Cole Palmer gave Chelsea supporters a moment they will remember for the remainder of their lives. Palmer scored a hat-trick, which included two late stoppage time goals, to sink Manchester United hearts at Stamford Bridge.
Conor Gallagher’s goal just four minutes in sent the majority inside the stadium crazy in celebration. A fantastic finish after what has been a difficult week for Gallagher.
It was not too long until Chelsea doubled their lead under the lights at Stamford Bridge. Palmer once again took responsibility from the penalty spot and continued his fantastic form against the club he supported as a child.
However, then came the United fightback. First it was Alejandro Garnacho, who capitalised on a poor mistake from Moises Caicedo and then Bruno Fernandes headed in to level the game later in the first-half.
It was United who then completed the turnaround in the second-half. On 67 minutes, Garnacho headed the Red Devils ahead after some more poor play from the hosts.
Noni Madueke won a penalty for Chelsea, though, in added time and Palmer stepped up and sent Onana the wrong way to level the match.
The Blues were then pushing and pushing and a 101st-minute deflected strike from Palmer won it for the Blues.
