This development is reportedly linked to Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s intention to investigate the administration of his predecessor, Nyesom wike

This move is seen as an attempt to avoid potential testimonies before the Judicial Panel of Enquiry, underlining the far-reaching implications of the governor’s actions.

Preye Samuel, a local legal practitioner, affirmed that the governor’s decision to initiate the probe is within his executive authority.

He said, “The move by Governor Siminalayi Fubara is a welcome development. He has not acted outside the purview of the law. Those who have given a political colouration to the move to institute a panel of enquiry are entitled to their opinion. It doesn’t change the fact that issues must be resolved, and the best way is what the governor has done.”

In other news, widespread celebrations have occurred in parts of the state following the resignation of several commissioners who were loyal to the former governor.

An anonymous high-ranking political figure revealed that the former governor’s supporters have fled due to Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s recent decision to investigate Nyesom Wike’s administration.

“Those commissioners have taken their destinies into their hands. Some have left the state with their families because it is no longer comfortable for them. They fear the probe panel that the governor wants to institute,” the source.
