The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, has denounced the members of Omoluabi Progressives led by Former Governor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, declaring them as unrecognized group.

The party stated this at an expanded stakeholders meeting held at the Party Secretariat on Tuesday in Osogbo.

According to the party Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, the Omoluabi Progressives is not a part of the APC and members should not go for their electronics membership registration.

“And we are discouraging him from our party members, that our party members should not go there to register because Omoluabi is not part of our party”.

He also added that ” The meeting also clarified that the party has not started any membership registration in the state and any form of registration on behalf of the party is unknown to any organ of the party and therefore, the party members should ignore such registration in whatever form.

“The meeting also notifies the party leadership about the upcoming electronics party membership registration as directed by the national secretariat of the party and urged all the party organs to prepare and get ready for the exercise that is expected to commence next week.”

The party also called on the National Headquarters to act on the letters recommending expulsion of Aregbesola from party, stating that his continued stay in affecting the progress of the party.

“We have stated it several times that Ogbeni Aregbesola is not our member again. We want to call on the national headquarters of our Party to act on the letters before it. This is necessary to help the development of our Party at the grassroots.”

Membership registration to commence soon

At the meeting, members present were briefed about the proposed membership registration.

Lawal said the training of the trainers for the electronic membership registration will hold on Wednesday in Abuja, as announced by the National Chairman of the party, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.

He therefore, declared that “any ongoing or previous registration in recent time is unknown to any party organs. This clarification is very important as a result of speculations and intentions of some marauders to mislead unsuspecting members of the party”.

The party also commended the leadership of the State Executive Committee under the chairmanship of Alhaji Tajudeen Lawal for the efficient management of the party and at the same time, acknowledged the resilience, loyalty and commitment of the party members across the state especially in this trying period as an opposition in the state.

The party encouraged any of the disenchanted member(s) of the party who are genuinely repentant to seek full integration into the party at the unit and ward levels.

The APC leadership also directed all the organs of the party from the unit to the state level to continue the regular meetings and accommodate the new decampees as the party is currently experiencing gale of defections in the state.

While appealing to the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and other affiliates to allow negotiation and peaceful resolution of the current industrial disputes over minimum wage and passed a vote of confidence on Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, for adding substantial value to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of President Tinubu with a strong belief in his capacity to navigate the current economy challenges confronting the nation.

The meeting which comprised the members of the State Executive Committee, Local Government Chairmen, Federal Constituency Leaders and other stakeholders.
