The Executive secretary of Osun Health Insurance Agency, Dr Rasaq Akindele has said that the Agency does not owe any of its health service providers capitation.
He said this during a press briefing on Monday at Agency in Abeere.
He added that “on every beneficiary of our insurance scheme we pay N575 every month on each member to our service providers and we did not owe any of our service providers capitation”.
He explained further,” Earlier this month, I had a verbal discussion with the management of Onward Hospital, there were some internal restructuring going on in the hospital, they also stated that the inflation has affected their practices and will want to withdraw for now, so we told them that it’s not possible to stop our treatment with OHIS “.
He also added that “there is a contractual agreement between any service provider, the time interface is that any other party must give a retain notice of three months before disengagement”.
While advising that any person or group of persons should desist from spreading rumours that the Agency is underperforming.
He said” I am not here to castigate anybody or any group of persons, I came to lay the facts bare. I am sure no sane person will say OHIS is underperforming. If you cannot see, you will hear, if you cannot hear, you will feel, even the dead would wish they are alive to enjoy the health packages under Governor Ademola Adeleke”.
The Executive Secretary concluded that ever since the administration of the Governor, the entire enrollees of the scheme were 248,000 out of which 244,000 were formal sector enrollees (that is Civil Servants and their immediate families). Only 4,000 enrollees are informal sector enrollees (other people who are not Civil Servants).
