The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has commissioned two healthcare facilities and boreholes at Oluode Community and Odo Oba Community in Iwo Local Government Area of the State.
According to the Governor, who was present at the unveiling on Saturday in Iwo, the commissioned projects are practical steps and pragmatic approach in providing social infrastructural facilities to the residents of the State.
“In Iwo township and through Osun CSDA, the present State Government has supported communities in the implementation of 31 micro projects cutting across many sectors. Today we are commissioning just four of them, which are two health centres and two borehole water projects.
“That is the reason this present administration is embarking on systematic interventions, taking practical steps and pragmatic approach in providing social infrastructural facilities that will make life more meaningful impact the public health outcomes.
The Governor also reiterated on the completion of the Iwo-Osogbo Road, he said “efforts shall be geared towards ensuring solid and durable work on the road to boost the economy of the State and improve the health life of the people”.
He charged the beneficiaries of the project to ensure regular and adequate maintenance and sustainability of the projects.
While commending the CSDA for their good work, Governor Adeleke assured the Agency of continuous support.
The General Manager of the Osun Community Development Agency, Mrs Funmi Abokede lauded the assistance of the State Government over the intervention and support for the success of the projects.
“We are here today to celebrate thr remarkable assistance of the Osun State Government to these communities through Osun State Community and Social Development welcomes (OSUN CSDA) under Osun CARES, a World Bank Intervention Programme.
She said,” We applaud the State Government for their continuous support and provision of funds to ensure the residents have good health care facilities and other resources to have good health .
“There are 31 micro projects ongoing at the moment in Iwo, they are 17 boreholes with reticulations, 6 hand pumps, 3 Blocks of VIP Toilets, 4 health Centres and 1 Block of Science Laboratories and classrooms and we are commissioning 4 of them in two communities.
“The Healthcare Facility and boreholes water projects in Oluode Community will serve 42 compounds in the community. And I enjoin the beneficiaries to take proper maintenance of the project, so that they can serve the communities for years to come”, she concluded.
The Commissioner for Rual and Community Development, Ganiyu Olaoluwa commended the State Government for continuous support. He also applauded the Agency for the good work.
Representing the Oluwo of Iwo, Aremo Adelani Akanbi appreciated the State Government and CSDA for building remarkable projects for Iwo land.
The community expressed satisfaction and happiness through the micro projects invested in their communities and reassured the Governor of their support towards his administration.
