The leadership of the Osun State Transport Management System has urged the State Government to investigate the attack launched at its Chairman and the Secretariat.

The Members stated this at a rally held on Wednesday at the secretariat in Osogbo.

The State Secretary of the OSTMS, Alhaji Mukaila Popoola accused the perpetrators of the attack of carting away 6.5 million naira from the Secretariat during the attack, while calling on the state Government, security operatives to arrest and prosecute them.

The Members who were carrying placards described the allegations against their Chairman, Nurudeen Wakili also known as Alowonle as untrue, while declaring full support for him.


“The allegations against our Chairman are very untrue, ever since his administration, the Association has increased in its outputs, he’s a man of integrity, and we support him fully”, they said.

” There is unity among the Osun State Transport Management System in the state for. Our Chairman, Nurudeen Wakeel Alowonle is not extorting any of the group or branches.

“The leadership under Alowonle, has never been found wanting by the state government as we account in detail for tickets given to us as and when due,

“The Adeleke Dynasty has never at any point requested for any money from the OSTMS leadership, group or branch for whatsoever reasons.

“OSTMS, as a body inaugurated by the government of Asiwaju Dr. Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, remains loyal and committed to the administration and will not allow miscreants being used by some political opposition to bring back the dark days of NURTW to Osun State”, they reiterated.

InsightMedia recalled that some transport workers on Tuesday invaded the Secretariat to protest against Alowonle over alleged extortion and high handedness.
