Governor Ademola Adeleke has commiserated with the Badru family of Iwoland over the demise of Alhaji Debo Badru, describing the death of the late politician as “shocking” and “sad”.

Badru, a Chieftain of the opposition All Progressives Congress, died on Tuesday in Abuja.

Adeleke in a statement by Olawale Rasheed, his Spokesperson, said he has reached out to the daughter of the deceased to convey his condolences.

The Governor said he received the news with agonizing feeling, noting that “Debo Badru was a fine politician, an astute political player and a strong community leader”

Citing decades of political, social and personal relationships with the deceased, the State Governor said his message of condolence is from the entire Adeleke family and the government of Osun State.

“I commiserate with the illustrious Badru family of Iwoland, the political class in Osun state and the immediate family of Alhaji Debo Badru on this sad happening. I pray the good Lord grant his soul eternal rest and console his family in this difficult time”, Governor Adeleke was quoted as saying in his condolence message.
