...It a call to higher responsibility – President charges new inductees

Pharm. Collins Olawale Olonade has been upgraded to the prestigious position of a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered).

He was admitted as a registered Member of NIM on the 12th of April, 2012.

Olonade was one of the new inductees upgraded to fellow membership of oldest management body in Nigeria, celebrated on Thursday at the 2024 Awards, Fellows And Spouses’ Day Luncheon held in Lagos.

He considered his elevation as a reward for professionalism and as privilege to be more dedicated to the profession.

Delivering her speech at the event, the President of the Institute, Dr. Christiana Atako, noted that qualified and deserving members are conferred the highest and most prestigious professional membership grade of the Institute.

The president said “the process of upgrading members to Fellow has always been meticulous and that is the reason only those who are truly deserving of the award get honoured yearly.”

While congratulating the inductees on joining the esteemed and exalted grade of Fellow, Dr Atako reminded them that it was a call to higher responsibility to the Institute, the management of the profession and the nation at large.

She said “I am duty bound to point out that Fellowship upgrade is not an end in itself but rather a call to higher responsibility and to the Institute, the management profession and the nation t therefore, charge you, the recipients, not to be satisfied with just adding the appellation, FNIM, to your names.

“Starting from today, each of you is required to devote more of your time, talent, treasure and thinking to the service of the institute, the profession and the nation.”

Speaking, the guess speaker, Mrs Hafsatu Abdul-Gusau commended the Institute for living up to expectation and ensuring high level of professinalism in management profession in Nigeria.

Abdul-Gusau encouraged the newly inducted fellows to live up to the billing that earned them the highest level of the professional membership of the Institute.

In attendance at the event are the Chairman of Board of Fellows, Dr. Umar Mustapha; the institute’s elder statesmen; Chairman Awards and Merit Committee, Dr. Nelson Uwaga, CNIM, past President; Council members, member of the institute among other eminent personalities.
