Underfire social media personality and crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky has recently expressed feelings of despair and indicated that he is contemplating suicide amid bribery allegations involving him and officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Nigerian Correctional Service.
Fellow influencer, Martins Otse, fondly called VeryDarkMan, released an incriminating audio recording alleging that Bobrisky paid some yet-to-be-identified EFCC officials ₦15 million bribe to drop his money laundering charges.
However, on Thursday, Bobrisky took to his official social media page (Instagram) to vent his frustration over the public attacks. He also revealed his suicidal thoughts in the now-deleted post.
In a striking confession, Bobrisky wrote, “I have never in my life thought about suicide… but now it’s coming to my head seeing what human beings are doing to their fellow human just because you don’t like them.”
According to the allegation, Bobrisky attempted to bribe prison officials to serve their jail sentence in a private apartment.
Adding to the situation’s intensity, the voice note that sparked the scandal also mentioned human rights lawyer Femi Falana.
Despite the apparent cry for help, Bobrisky has stated that they do not want sympathy from anyone.
The cross-dresser added that only their late parents could have provided the comfort needed in this difficult time.
The social media post concluded with Bobrisky seemingly conceding defeat to their detractors, stating that they had “won the battle.”
The House of Representatives has launched an investigation of bribery allegations which implicated the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and the Nigerian Correctional Service.
