Ahead of the Saturday 21 local government elections in Kwara State, a two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Isin/Oke-Ero/Irepodun/Ekiti federal constituency, Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola has collapsed his entire political structures for the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It would be recalled that the ex-lawmaker announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) through a letter dated July 30, addressed to the ward chairman in Irepodun LGA of the state.
The defection of Hon. Makanjuola signals a significant realignment in the party, with the tendency to galvanize other PDP members to reconsider their positions, potentially leading to increased support for the APC going forward.
Makanjuola’s resignation remains a huge blow to the former Senate President Bukola Saraki who is also mourning the death of his ally Rafiu Ibrahim.
According to Makanjuola’s supporters who received the directives at the stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday with utmost delight, the development marks a pivotal moment in Kwara politics, reflecting the growing momentum behind the APC and its agenda for progress and development.
The teeming Makanjuola’s followers have unanimously expressed their readiness to decisively deliver all APC candidates in Saturday’s LG polls across the length and breadth of Kwara State, boasting that their principal’s track records of human relationship and corporate social responsibility for the people pole the ruling party in better position for a landslide victory.
