Dr. David Oloyede has been elected as the Pioneer Dean of the newly established School of Communication and Media Studies (SCMS) at The Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State.

Dr. Oloyede secured this position unopposed in an election held today within the Mass Communication Department.

The election results, as announced by the outgoing Dean of the School of Communication and Information Technology, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwakemi Omoniyi Ogungbamigbe , revealed that Dr. Oloyede received 30 out of the 31 votes cast, with one vote declared void.

Under his leadership, the SCMS will oversee several departments, including the Mass Communication Department, Media Studies and Journalism, Media Studies and Strategic Communication, and an additional department that is yet to commence operations.

Dr. Oloyede brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the Head of the Mass Communication Department at the same institution.

He also served as Head of the Mass Communication Department at Adeleke University, Ede, in Osun State during his sabbatical.

Additionally, he was the former Postgraduate Coordinator at Adeleke University, an adjunct lecturer at Thomas Adewumi University, Oko (Kwara State), Redeemers University, Ede, Summit University, Offa, and the former Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Muhammad Gbadamosi Okikiola, Esuwoye II, Ajagungbade I.

His appointment marks a significant step forward in the advancement of communication and media education at the institution.
