A Big Brother Naija housemate, TJ, whose wife gave birth to twin boys when he was on the show, has said that though her pregnancy was at an advanced stage when he got the opportunity to feature on the show, she gave him her full support.
He told Sunday Scoop, “It was difficult for both of us, in the sense that when I was selected, the pregnancy was quite late. I actually thought the show would air after the delivery.
“However, her pregnancy journey was very straightforward. We did not really expect any drama. We had a long conversation about it, and my wife was very supportive of my dream.
She said to me, ‘There’s no point going backwards now’. Although it was difficult for her, she preferred for me to chase my dreams.
She also had a lot of help from friends and family. And some fans reached out too. I always praise women who support their men’s dreams.”
He added that the hardest parts of being on the show for several weeks included not being with his family, the restriction of movement, and also not enjoying the full benefits when he was the Head of House.
He also lamented about the theft that sometimes occurred in the house. He said, “As the weeks went by, the rate of theft in the house increased. Can you believe that at a point, 15 pieces of meat just went missed. I was really angry, because I wondered how someone could steal 15 pieces of meat in this economy. I don’t really enjoy been stolen from.”
