Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appointed Soji Adagunodo Jnr. as the Special Adviser on Regional Integrations
This appointment is timely as the governor simultaneously commissioned a legacy house built in honor of the late Hon. Soji Adagunodo, a legendary leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The commissioning of the legacy house marks a profound tribute to Hon. Soji Adagunodo’s impactful political career and enduring contributions to the PDP and the broader community. The event took place at the PDP Southwest zonal office, where family members, party officials, and parry leaders gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of a visionary leader.
Governor Makinde expressed his admiration for the late Hon. Adagunodo, stating, “Today we not only remember a great leader who dedicated his life to the service of his people but also welcome the next generation of leadership with the appointment of Soji Adagunodo Jnr. as Special Adviser on Regional Integrations. It is a step towards ensuring that his father’s legacy continues to guide us in our efforts to foster unity and progress within our region.”
“Soji Adagunodo Jnr. Will bring his wealth of experience and a profound understanding of regional dynamics, which will make him an excellent fit for this newly created role. I’m very sure, and it’s obvious, he’s like his father my friend and our leader, he will be committed to advancing the goals of regional integration, economic cooperation, and sustainable development in the Southwest” Makinde remarks.
In his acceptance speech, Adagunodo Jnr. thanked Governor Makinde for the opportunity, stating, “I am honored to continue the work of my father. His spirit lives on, and I will strive to fulfill his vision for a united and prosperous Southwest Nigeria. Together, we will work towards fostering greater cooperation among our states and communities.”
As the event concluded, attendees expressed their heartfelt condolences to the Adagunodo family while celebrating the legacy of a man who made indelible contributions to the PDP and Nigeria’s political landscape. It is a reminder that although Hon. Soji Adagunodo is no longer with us. His vision and work will continue to inspire future generations.”
The appointment was announced in the presence of Osun Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the PDP southwest chairman, Kamarudeen Ajisafe and other chieftains of the PDP from Osun State.
