Students and staff of the University of Ilesa, Osun State have been directed to stay at home at the institution announced closure over traditional rite in the community.

Funsho Ojo, Registrar of the institution,  made the announcement in a statement obtained by InsightMedia on Monday.

“In view of the notice given on the special traditional rite (prayer) slated for Tuesday, 5th November, 2024, for the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, the Management of the University has directed that the University should remain closed for that day,” Ojo said.

“Staff are hereby directed to work from home while students are directed to remain in their respective houses and hostels.

“School activities resume on Wednesday, 6th November, 2024.”

This is the second time the community is experiencing curfew over traditional rites following the death of Owa Obokun Of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran.
