•••Oke leads with 8 bills; Oluga has 2; Afolabi, Fakeye, Amobi have 1 each

Four out of nine House of Representatives members from Osun State have not presented a single bill on the floor of the house since their inauguration in June last year.

The latest report released by TrackNews showed that veteran Lawmaker from Obokun/Oriade federal constituency, Wole Oke has the highest number of bills to his name ahead his colleagues from the state. Oke, who is a fourth timer in the green chambers, has presented eight bills in this dispensation.

Second on the chart is the Lawmaker representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan federal constituency and only female among Osun federal lawmakers, Mrs Olukemi Oluga with two bills. Oluga is first timer like majority of others.

According to the chart, Yinusa Amobi of Iwo federal constituency, Olufemi Fakeye of Ila federal constituency and Olalekan Afolabi representing of IBO federal constituency have one bill each to their names.

Those who have not presented a bill are Bukola Oyewo of Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo federal constituency, Bamidele Salam representing Egbedore/Ede North/Ede South/Ejigbo federal, Lawrence Ayeni representing Atakunmosa East/West/Ilesha East/West federal constituency and Taofeek Ajilesoro of Ife federal constituency.

The four are among 269 in the lower chamber of the national assembly who have not presented any bill since their inauguration.

However, some of these lawmakers have at one time or the other moved motions on issues that affected their constituents.

The main functions of a representative are lawmaking, oversight functions, appropriation and representation.
