A 15-member Chinese medical team, invited by the Nigerian government, today arrived in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The team was received at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport on Wednesday (today) by Health minister of health, Dr Osagie Ehanire.
According to a report by TVC, the team arrived with 16-ton of test kits, ventilators, disinfection machine, disposable medical masks, drugs, infrared thermometer and other items ordered by the Federal Government.
Members will spend the next 14 days in quarantine, in line with coronavirus protocol.
Members of the team are experts in infectious diseases, respiratory illness, intensive care, cardiology, neurology, general surgery and anesthesiology.
They are expected to share their knowledge on COVID-19 containment with Nigerian counterparts.
Meanwhile, doctors in Nigeria had earlier opposed the arrival of the Chinese doctors.
