The people of Ifon-Osun in Orolu local government area of Osun state were on Monday full of praise to the founder of Ogo-Oluwa Kitan Foundation, Mrs Abosede Oriyomi-Afolabi for distributing some COVID-19 palliatives and protection materials to them.
The distribution, which was done at the Palace of Olufon of Ifon-Orolu, Oba Al-Maroof Adekunle Magbagbeola Olumoyero ll, was held on Monday.
Items included on the package were facemasks, hand sanitizers, face-cover and other valuable items. The items were donated to the State Government of Osun through the Orolu local government.
In his address, the Olufon of Ifon-Orolu appreciated the kind gesture of the founder of the organization. The monarch said the fact that Mrs Oriyomi-Afolabi is not holding any political office makes her gesture a rare one
Oba Olumoyero called on every Ifon sons and daughters to emulate the deeds of the founder of Ogo-Oluwa Kitan Foundation and extend helping hands to the needy in the community.
The monarch said he is proud of the donor and appreciate everyone who has spoken about the woman, stating that they have spoken well. He further called all parents to ensure they educate their children in order for the kingdom to move higher in the nearest future.
Also speaking at the event, the National President of Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union, Dr Olusegun Oyewo said the community will forever be appreciating the gesture of Mrs Oriyomi-Afolabi. Hee prayed for her to continue soaring high wealth.
Present at the event were the Chairman of Orolo LG, Benson Adekunle; Members of Olufon-in-Council, Baales across the Kingdom, market women, religious leaders, and many more.
The package was distributed to the iyaloja, chief Imam, CAN, Orolu Royal Family, the chiefs, political parties, and many more of Orolu Kingdom.
