Dahiru Buba, a Nigerian man who trekked from Gombe to Abuja for 15 days to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the 2015 general elections has cried out as he’s currently challenged with health issues.
Daily Trust reports that Buba is suffering from serious limb pains and he has appealed to his state governor and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress to come to his rescue.
It was gathered that Buba, who is from Dukku local government area of Gombe, said the adventure got him nothing but an APC certificate.
He said the pains are becoming unbearable, adding that he cannot even pay his children’s school fees.
Buba said: “Since the time I conducted the trekking, the limb pain is growing by the day.
“I am appealing to my governor, Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and the party leadership to help me look for medical assistance.”
In 2015 after Buhari defeated Goodluck Jonathan in the presidential election, some Nigerians decided to honour him in their own way by trekking long distances. Buba was not the only one who trekked for the president and later felt regret.
One Hashimu Suleiman who also embarked on the same journey, a year after his long trip, said trekking for Buhari was his greatest mistake.
