The Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Hammed Makama has advised the citizens and residents of Osun State not to elect a ‘mediocre’ as governor of the state in the forthcoming Guber poll.

The monarch made the advice on Sunday at the 3rd Osun Youth Ambassadors’ Award Presentation Ceremony held in Osogbo, the state capital.

Oba Makama stated opined that the job of governing a state like Osun is heinous and should be paddled by an intellectually sound individual.

He said, “as the election is approaching, I want to advise every individual in the state to vote for a competent candidate and not a mediocre.

“The civil servants have also been given the opportunity to participate, I urge them to consider the future of the state and vote for the best candidate,” he added.

An aide to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, Comrade Olorungbebe Olateju Adunni, two members of Osun Youths Empowerment Scheme, (OYES) Ogunwede Alice and Odesola Funmilayo Ruth were among notable Youths of the State of Osun were awarded for their significant contributions to the development of the state.

In his remarks shortly after the Award Presentation, Comrade Olateju Adunni said the award is a clarion call for him to do much more in terms of Youth emancipation in Osun.

He underscored the need for Youths to engage themselves meaningfully in ventures that will help to project the economic potentials of the state.

Comrade Olateju-Adunni who is the Coordinator Osun-All Progressives Youth Forum, (OAPYF) also stressed the need for Youths in the state to participate actively in Politics and play vital roles to the realization of the gospel of Continuity and consolidate as the Governorship election draws nearer.

In his speech, the guest lecturer of the event, Dr. Dayo Sobowale from Federal Polytechnic, Ede challenged the youths in personal development and urged them not to create any boundary for themselves as they move towards greatness.
