Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta does not feel that his defender Takehiro Tomiyasu should have been issued two yellow cards during their victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday.

The Spaniard led his side to a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

Arsenal took the lead from the penalty spot after Eddie Nketiah was brought down in the area by Sam Johnstone.

Gunners skipper Martin Odegaard scored from the spot kick.

But Tomiyasu was shown a second yellow card in the 67th minute for a tug of Andre Ayew’s shirt.

And speaking after the game, Arteta suggested the ‘new rules’ had been introduced on the fly.

“I’m a really open person, I understand everything,” he said.

“The new rules are one thing. The new rules that I don’t know where they are and they haven’t communicated, that’s something very different.

“But we will adapt. Today we had to win it in this context and we’ve done it.
