In a concerted effort to prioritize the well-being of Osun State residents, the Osun Health Insurance Scheme (OHIS) has revealed that it’s ready to take quality healthcare delivery to the doorsteps of every resident of Osun State.

Dr. Abdulrasaq Akintunde Akindele, Executive Secretary of OSHIA reiterated this commitment during a radio programme monitored by InsightMedia in Osogbo on Thursday.

Addressing the potential panic by enrolles, the Akindele emphasized the importance of enrolling in OHIS, particularly for informal sector, stating that the move is part of a broader initiative of Governor Ademola Adeleke to extend coverage to every citizen of Osun State, regardless of their occupation.

Dr. Akindele clarified that no legitimate staff members were terminated; rather, the organization took measures to remove non-existent or ‘ghost’ members who were receiving salaries without performing any work. He added that the action safeguards the government’s investments in the health of Osun’s populace.

“The registration process is currently underway, employing a multi-faceted approach that encompasses both urban and rural areas. For non-government workers, registration options are diverse, catering to various demographics. These include individual registration for single applicants, specialized assistance for vulnerable populations, and tailored packages for the organized private sector.”

The OSHIA boss called on Osun residents to join the scheme to enjoy more benefits.
