The Chairman of Governing Board of The Nigerian council for Registered insurance Brokers, Prince Babatunde Adeleke Oguntade has encouraged Nigerians to embrace insurance policy as a way of reducing risk.
Oguntade stated this at the investiture of Mr Gafar Akindele Alamu as the of The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers Western Area Committee on Thursday in osogbo.
OGUNTADE said the risk of catastrophe that are going round the world, which involved collapsing of building and fire-outbreak which only the insurance policy can reduce the risk, and the only way to reduce the risk is by going into insurance.
“Every individual or business is exposed to different risks, like loss of life,job,injury, fire danger etc. I don’t see any reasons why a business owner that has his/her buildings and stocks damaged by fire will continue to rely on Government financial support for succour instead of seeking for compensation under his or her fire insurance policy “, he explained.
He encouraged people to consider insurance as an option to secure lives and property.
He also urged registered insurance brokers that understand the nitty gritty of insurance should be contact.
The newly Inaugurated Chairman of western Area committee Nigeria council of Registered insurance brokers Mr Gafaar Akindele Alamu also reinstated his commitment in creating awareness of exposure risk and management risk while urging journalists to also make known happenings relating to risk in the society.
“We are taking insurance to the grassroots , we want each community, organisation and individual to be aware of the enormous risk which is exposed to and we are getting everyone involved, journalists, practitioners and professionals.
Professor Festus also reaffirmed the effectiveness of the Nigerian’s trust insurance company, stating that insurance company are now capitalise , solid and reliable and through National insurance commission, you can call them on busman and report what ever the issue is.
Mr Ayobami Oladokun, the M.D of Oakland expressed gratitude for the successful investiture, stating that the insurance brokers are now committed more than ever.
