Ruling Houses in Ekosin on Thursday stormed the Odo-Otin local government secretariat to protest against the rumoured plan to announce Mr Kazali Olagunju as the Akosin of Ekosin.

The ruling Houses said the protest became necessary to put the council at alert over the planned announcement, calling on the government to allow the court process to go through before taking any action.

Armed with placards with different inscriptions, the protesters alleged that Mr Kazali Olagunju is not a prince and doesn’t belong to any ruling house in the town.

“We’re here to inform the local government that we’re hearing a rumour that the Osun State government will tomorrow (Friday) announce Mr Kazali Olagunju as the Akosin of Ekosin.

This is against the agreement reached when the council visited us and also in contravention of the pending court case at the Osun State High Court sitting in Ikirun.

“We don’t want any trouble in our community and the government should not cause it by imposing Olagunju on our town.”

Addressing the protesters, Chairman of Odo-Otin local government, Adewale Adeyinka appreciated the protesters for coming down to the council.

He promised that he will relate the development to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
