Award-winning musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed frustration with the Independent National Electoral Commission regarding the Edo State governorship election process.

Davido called on the electoral commission to address issues, citing his previous experiences in Osun State.

He wrote, “Bruh, #inecnigeria fix up! We can’t continue like this… wtf.

“My mum is from Edo, for those wondering why I’m interested in the election, but we as Nigerians should be concerned. #inecnigeria shame on you. I know how many times I had to come in here and rant before they got it right in Osun! It’s really bad. God help us.”

Davido’s outburst came after he responded to Deputy Inspector General of Police Frank Mba’s suggestion that voters should return home immediately after casting their votes.

During an interview with Channels Television in the early hours of Saturday, Mba urged Edo residents to exercise their civic duty and then head home after voting. He also announced a restriction on vehicular movement from 6 a.m. to 6 pm on Saturday.

Mba said, “If you’re not accredited to participate in the election, you shouldn’t be out on the streets. Cast your vote and return home; it’s your civic duty.”

Reacting to this statement, Davido, who is affiliated with the People’s Democratic Party, expressed a differing opinion, suggesting that voters should remain at their polling units.
In response to Mba’s statement, Davido tweeted, “Loooooooool, go where???”

Davido, whose mother hails from Edo State, had earlier declared his support for the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo, in the lead-up to the election.
